Our mission is to Save The Cowboy and STOP the American Prairie Reserve.
Rural Montana Foundation is the 501c3 non-profit arm of United Property Owners of Montana, who Save the Cowboy has partnered with. All donations are tax deductible and earmarked for Save the Cowboy issues.
Our communities and future generations depend on our mission today. We are fighting these big money non-governmental organizations because our livelihoods depend on it. Most of the donors that contribute to the APR are from the East Coast, or even out of the country. They have absolutely no idea the repercussions it will have on our rural communities, families, and livelihoods. They have no idea what life is like here in Montana. The APR seems as if they are supporters of farmers and ranchers, but they aren’t. The APR’s goal alone is to manage 3.5 million acres in Montana. But that doesn’t include other organizations that are similar to APR in other states. If our rural communities are destroyed and future generations are forced to relocate, they will control the entire North-West. Meaning, they can do absolutely anything they want and ultimately control what does and doesn’t happen.
The 3 of the 3.5 million acres are already accessible to the public. The APR proposed to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to take out all the fences and water infrastructure that has been put in for the last 70 years. BLM stands for land management but they are considered taking all these improvements out, and allowing the bison to “roam free”. Meanwhile, the farmers and ranchers have had to follow strict rules to allow cattle to graze the lands. How does that even make sense?
We are coming together to STOP this unrealistic “dream” of putting the land back into what it once was when Lewis and Clark first found Montana over 200 years ago. We as a community of Montana are taking a stance to say NO to the APR and not letting big money take over.
We ask that everyone spread the word by purchasing a sign, banner, or bumper sticker. These radical non-governmental organizations affect everyone in Montana, the West, and America. Not just the Cowboy. Make a donation and purchase a sign today!
